STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Governing document
The organisation is a charitable company limited by guarantee with no share capital, incorporated on 9 September 1983 and registered as a charity on 1 October 1983. The company was established under a Memorandum of Association which established the objects and powers of the charitable company and is governed under its Articles of Association.
Recruitment and appointment of new trustees
The board consists of elected members who, with the Chairman, administer the Charity. Under the requirements of the Memorandum and Articles of Association at the Annual General Meeting one-third of the Trustees shall retire from office and be eligible for re-election.
Induction and training of new trustees
All Trustees will be familiar with the work of the Charity and are elected by the voting members at the Annual General Meeting.

Risk management
The Trustees use their relevant professional experience and expertise to assess business risk and implement risk management strategies. This involves identifying the types of risks the Charity faces, prioritising them in terms of potential impact and likelihood of occurrence, and identifying means of mitigating the risks. As part of this the Trustees have reviewed the adequacy of the Charity’s current internal controls. The Trustees are pleased to report that the Charity’s current internal controls conform with guidelines issued by the Charity Commission.
