The Glitz and Glamour Ladies, Kay and Caz, from Ashbourne have raised over £42,000, >£21,000 for the Derby Breast test appeal and for the Gynaecological research fund. Over the years they have raised > £110,000 in total – WOW!!!!
The energy, enthusiasm and dedication of Kay Platts and Caroline (Caz) Harris as the “Glitz and Glamour” team has been quite staggering over many years. They organise a fantastic ball with a raffle with amazing prizes donated to the cause in the autumn of every alternate year and have been adding more and more ideas and successful fundraising events as you can can see from a very small number of example photos.

Over the last couple of years , as we have all found , gathering together has been very difficult, but they simply pressed on, cancelled the planned ball for 2020 and 2021 and re-organised it in 2022 – what a success!
This year they were determined to reach their highest target ever and have held many other events including a large group achieveing the 26 miles of the London moon walk in May 2022, developing special gin and a calendar, presented before christmas as wonderful potential gifts, a very successful Bingo night in 2023. This is but to name a few of their fundraising activities.

Future plans include a Christmas market on Sunday 26th November 2023 in Ashbourne, with 36 stalls and Santa visiting, and our own glitz and glamour Christmas cards and in 2024, their own 26 mile walk locally. No doubt there will more to follow.
